He began his wrestling career in 1985 under the ring name Flash before adopting the moniker Sting. His rise to prominence came in the late 1980s when he became the face of World Championship Wrestling (WCW), where he was dubbed "The Franchise of WCW".

Throughout his illustrious career, Sting engaged in legendary rivalries and matches that defined an era. His 45-minute time-limit draw against Ric Flair at Clash of the Champions I in 1988 cemented his status as a main-event star. Another iconic bout was his match against Hulk Hogan at Starrcade 1997, which was WCW’s highest-grossing pay-per-view event. Sting also had memorable encounters with The Great Muta and Vader, showcasing his versatility in the ring.

Sting’s accolades are numerous. He held multiple world championships, including six reigns as WCW World Heavyweight Champion and two reigns as TNA World Heavyweight Champion. His contributions to wrestling earned him inductions into both the WWE Hall of Fame and the TNA Hall of Fame. In 2024, he was honored with the prestigious Cauliflower Alley Club’s Iron Mike Mazurki Award, recognizing his impact on the industry.
